If your new years resolution involves landing a high-paying job in an affordable city, look no further!

NerdWallet compiled a list of the top 10 cities for job seekers looking to stretch that paycheck. This list was put together by studying the top 100 cities in America, and factoring in: unemployment rates, workforce growth, median income, and rent costs. Here they are:

Now, I bet you’re thinking, “What makes these cities so great?”

First off, many of these cities are home to many large employers in a fast-growing technology and medical fields. You are more likely to find a job in a booming industry, if you start off looking in a booming city! Also, these cities have a higher-than-average percentage of 20-something millennials – the top city statistics range from 17-22 percent for millennials. And lastly, more than half of these top 10 cities are also state capitals – which tend to have more opportunities for government jobs than other metros.
