Snapchat Groups Are FINALLY a Thing
Snapchat has finally released a feature we low-key needed the entire time.
Snapchat users can now add up to 16 people to a single group chat. You can create a Group by starting in the Chat part of the app and clicking the upper left corner button to start a new message thread.
After selecting your Group mates, you can then make up a name for your group.
You’ll then see their names appear at the bottom of the chat screen.
Like in current Snapchat messages, chats sent to the group will be deleted automatically after 24 hours.
You can also access Groups after you create a snap. When you start to select users’ names, you’ll see a Group icon appear in the upper right corner of the app.
In addition, Snapchat introduced other creative tools to aid in your Snapsperience. A new scissors icon at the top of your snaps will let you cut a part of the image out and save it to your stickers (perfect for saving those meme-worthy snaps). This feature is currently only available on iOS and will roll out soon to Android.
A new paintbrush feature lets you draw on snaps in Memories.
Snapchat has also partnered with Shazam to help you identify songs from within the app. You’ll see the feature when you press and hold on the camera screen. Songs that you identify will appear in the Settings part of the app.
