UNICEF Launches App That Uses Activity to Save Lives

Two years after UNICEF launched its Kid Power fitness bands, that help kids convert their daily walking activity into life-saving nutrition for children in the developing world, UNICEF has launched a FREE app that syncs to your health apps to do the same thing!

“What makes Kid Power really fun is that it can be done by a child. It can be done by an adult. It can be a family experience. It can be a workplace experience. It really is about taking responsibility for your own health in a way that saves the life of another human being,” said Caryl Stern, President and CEO of UNICEF USA.

For every 2,500 steps you take, you’ll earn one point. Ten points “unlocks” a food package that will be delivered to a child with severe acute malnutrition.
